I have a new goal that I think is very doable. It’s to read a book a week. I talk a bunch about food and sometimes exercise, but part of wellness is the mind. Part of relaxing myself and giving my mind a rest from regular life is reading.
Side note, family calls me Bell from time to time as a joke ’cause I read so much. If you don’t know, Bell from Beauty and the Beast was all up in the books 😉 I even got a mini Bell figurine as a gag Christmas gift. Anyways, I digress…
…I use to read a ton during my college years and it’s dwindled. I remember during that time that my mind was much clearer and really played a positive role in my overall mood from day to day. I enjoy it and so I want to get back into it. If body, mind, or spirit is not given attention to or worked on, wellness is really not going to happen.
This goal actually just came to me as I write this blog because I’m currently reading Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin and last week I finished a book by Lisa Tillinger Johansen called Stop the Diet, I Want to Get Off! (also a good read and I’m counting it as goal completed, week #1).
I started it yesterday on the Willink and Babin book, so I should be on to the next book by Saturday the 20th. So far I’m really liking the book. Anyways, I hope to share my readings with you and hopefully recommend some good books or some books to maybe avoid :p
