So I went down to Portland, Oregon for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu event brought on by Dojo Outfitters (if you don’t know, now you know). But since I was down there, of course I finally had to try the famous Voodoo Doughnut. I heard about this spot many years ago when I was deep into the Food Network channel and now I finally get to try it!
Here is the front of the shop on this typical gloom and rainy PNW day.
A view from where I was sitting. This is the front counter where you order. There’s not a lot of sitting area in the inside, but plenty of picnic tables outside. Of course with the weather no one was outside.
This was my one and only doughnut order. The Peanut butter and Oreo doughnut. So good, but oh so sweet and rich.
Just a stack of cool boxes I saw on the counter.
I would say that this is a must go to shop if you are ever in the Portland area, but with that said, it would mainly be for the novelty. The other doughnuts I saw I felt were just very random ingredients put together and put on top of a doughnut, which made them not as appetizing. Either way, it’s a cool little spot to visit and to say you’ve “been there.”
Hope you enjoyed!
That brand is so consistently cookie cutter because regardless which location you go to, it looks the same. Any good brand does that, but they need to deviate a little like Starbucks has with their interiors.
I agree! However I didn’t go to their other locations so I’m not sure what the other shops look like.
