My Favorite Japanese Snack

So, I wanted to start out by telling you how I came to even try this snack. It all started when I went to Japan in March 2016…I had to take the train to my final destination after landing in Tokyo, but that train ride was going to be several hours long (destination Yamaguchi). Long story short, I was starving with no food on this train ride and I happen to see a boy eating a snack a few seats up from where I was and this was the snack…

You can see the name on the package in Hiragana, but it’s pronounced Ja-Ga-Ri-Ko. I didn’t get to eat on the train (the snack was on my mind the whole time), but when I had the chance to get it at a 7-11 right next to my hotel, I got it!! The snack is like a potato chip, but in a stick form. Not sure what it is, but it is surely delicious. Anyways, I couldn’t find it at any of my local Asian markets, but I recently found one on a trip to Los Angeles at a store called Marukai and guess where in L.A. Yup! Little Tokyo.

Needless to say, I stocked up a bit. So good!

What’s your favorite foreign snack?
