Another spot to definitely hit up if you are in Los Angeles is this place…
The Original Pantry. Stuck in the corner you can see the green “Pantry” sign and the red and white striped awning.
The menu is pretty basic. You got your eggs and bacon, toast and pancakes, omelettes, and I’m sure there’s more, but very standard. This is what I got…
Bacon and eggs! And as you can see, it’s not just your two bacon strips you typically get at Denny’s or IHOP, but I got 5 and they were large slices…and oh so crispy. You can see the cup of coffee in the back, it was good coffee.
My apologies, I did not take any pictures of my sourdough toast, but man were these huge slices of sourdough! and it looked like they were made from scratch. Did not look like your typical bread slice, but from and actual sourdough loaf. Sourdough toast…a must!
The place is a small spot and can be tight squeezed so the line can wrap around the block if it gets quite busy. Also, we sat right next to the grill, which was behind glass window, but I think it did make it a little warm inside. The decor and vibe give it that old school feel. It was great.
If your tummy is begging to filled with classic breakfast items and in large portions, this is the spot for you.
Side note: place only accepts cash and they do have and ATM inside. Prices are reasonable, but on the upper end. For two people, which was in this case, I paid around $25.oo USD and we were unable to finish all the food. So you get your monies worth.
