So the day of my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition I had a little bit of time before my fight, but I had to go early to get weighed in and that’s how me and my teammate ended up at this spot called The Nest – A Breakfast Joint…
This spot was very hipster-ish. Not that big of a spot and it was definitely packed on the day we went. The picture above was some cool chalkboard writing above what was kind of like a bar that you could eat at; we sat in a booth.
That’s the menu. Place your orders.
My main meal was scrambled eggs and veggie sausage (nothing too exciting), but the side that I got was the bacon waffle pieces. It was delicious. The waffle was crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. Do I really have to say anything about the bacon and maple syrup on top? Okay…so good!
Did anyone ask for Oreo french toast? Yes please! That ball of chocolatey goodness was like a cream. This was my brother’s order, but best believe I sampled it. Hahaha!
This spot was cool, the service was very friendly, and the owner dropped by our table and seemed like a very nice and down-to-earth guy. I would definitely check this place out if you ever find yourself in Bellflower, California.
Hope you enjoyed!
