Duke’s Seafood Restaurant | Tacoma, WA

So this is a pretty well known spot here in the Puget Sound and since living in WA, it’s been many years I’ve been wanting to try it, but the long awaited feast has now come to pass. My wife was the one that made the call to finally go to Duke’s and I’m glad she did.

I should first start off by saying that this restaurant is literally in the water off of the beautiful Tacoma Waterfront in the area known as Ruston Point. It was a very sunny and hot day and we decided to eat outside. My son, who was the only PNW native (my newborn daughter now too) found it extremely hot and complained for the first part of our lunch, but unfortunately me and wife decided to eat outside on the deck. Anyways, it was beautiful, but I got to agree with my son, a bit hot for our liking.

I had the Unforgettable Sea Cod Taco…

I was tempted to get two tacos, but I’m glad I just stuck with one. As you can see it’s pretty big for 1 taco with lots of ingredients and they did not skimp on the fish. The tortilla was a blueberry tortilla that I was a little skeptical about, but it was dee-lish! Wasn’t really blueberry tasting per se, but it added another layer of flavor to everything else that just made this dish so good.

My wife had the Seattle’s Best Crab Cake Sandwich…

She enjoyed it, but for her it wasn’t enough to say “we got to come back here” and for the price as well. So with that said, be sure if you do drop by this spot, it will be a little on the pricey side. On the other hand if you don’t enjoy the food all that much, you have a great view of the water and you can walk your way down and do some window shopping or just enjoy the walk by the water after you meal.

Thanks for eating along with me!
